My name is Dr. Ian Carrillo, an assistant professor of Sociology at the University of Oklahoma. I study the relationship between race, class, and the environment in Brazil and the US. I received my PhD in Sociology and Community & Environmental Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 2019-2020, I was a National Science Foundation SPRF fellow at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and in 2015 I was a Fulbright Fellow in Brazil. I have published research in sociological and inter-disciplinary journals, including Sociology of Race and Ethnicity, Current Sociology, Rural Sociology, Latin American Perspectives, Environmental Sociology, and Agriculture and Human Values.
